Founded June 4,2018, by a group of amazing of women who had a vision for leadership and service in the community. The birth of Gamma Lambda Phi stems from the social injustice and distortion of the LGBT+ community in main stream media and neighboring communities. During this period, the Political Administration worked to dismantle LGBT+ policies, which would leave the individuals a target for discrimination. This was a leading factor in creating a safe space for lesbian/queer women.

The mission of Gamma Lambda Phi Sorority, Inc. is to transform the stigma around lesbian/queer women and families through fellowship, education, service, and compassion.
